We started the day (after French) talking about Aboriginal People Current Events. Students were then given a current events assignment. They need to prepare a presentation from a News Article, either online or in hard copy, or from a news clip online. They have a sheet to guide them in what they need to do. We spent a part of the morning looking up that information. I am in the process of assigning dates for the presentations. The first ones will be on January 31st, and we should be finished at the end of February.
In Language today we talked about the words used to persuade others. The class had a chance to look at some You Tube Videos to listen to the language used in advertisement. From home they are supposed to continue to collect words in advertisements and create a Tagxedo (http://www.tagxedo.com) and post it to kidblog.Check out our class example here and post it to the kidblog for Monday. And this one too One more with math words.
Here are instructions on how to post your TagXedo to the kidblog
Once you have finished your Tagxedo and are satisfied with it, select Save/Share on the Create Screen
That will take you to a screen with tabs at the top...choose the WEB tab
On that screen there are a few lines to fill, the first asks for username, you can use msgreen
then it asks you to name your TAGXEDO on title - choose whatever name you would like
click submit
This will create a URL - copy the URL (complete) and then paste it into the body of a kidblog post and I will approve it and you will be able to click it and see your Tagxedo.
There are still students who need to post their reading response on their kidblog account..
What book are you reading? How much have you read? What is the most important event that has happened so far? Give Three reasons why you think that?
There will be definitely be a Flight Quiz on Tuesday and I will provide the glossary list and a study list tomorrow.
Finally (I think), there were paper airplanes flying all over Mackillop today as students were observing the effects of the various forces on flight. They have finished all their measurements and just need to finish the write up of their observations for Monday.
I think that is all for now.
